Head coach of Prince Kazeem Eletu Queens Football Club of Lagos, Jaiyeola Damilare has expressed satisfaction despite team’s 1-2 loss to Dannaz Queens in the pre-season friendly match in preparation for nationwide league which kicks off 11, April at Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.
The friendly match took place recently at Border football pitch, Ojodu Berger, Lagos.
Damilare disclosed that there is work in progress on his team saying that their defeat against Danna Queens FC is a wake-up call to prepare hard ahead of nationwide league.
“I am not worried about the defeat but I am satisfied that my team are getting better. We have some matches this week and I think, we would get better in our subsequent matches,” he said.
Damilare remains optimistic that Eletu Queens is one of the team that would get promotion to championship at the end of the nationwide league. He said his team can face any opponent pair with them but warned his girls to approach the nationwide league with all seriousness.
Dannaz coach, Bashiru Fatai said both teams played good football but noted that his girls were technically better which gave them advantage to win the encounter.
Deborah Felix opened the goal scoring in the 26th minutes. The second half saw Ajoke Akinbo quickly made it second goal for Danna Queens in 56th minutes.Eletu Queens intensified their effort to reduce the tally but their effort was rewarded in the 85th minute when Peace Ikeduba fired a shot to reduce the tally.
