Prince Kazeem Eletu striker, Precious Agu failed to convert a penalty kick in the 78th minutes after Sulaiman Lawal was brought down inside the box eighteen of the MS Success FC of Mushin in a friendly match played on Friday at the Eagles Club football pitch, Surulere, Lagos.
Prince Kazeem Eletu have not lost in a recent friendly matches but their game against MS Success on Friday ended one goal apiece at the regulation time.
The match was one of the best friendly matches Eletu boys engaged in a recent time. The visiting team came to the match with full of energy, determination and game plan but Eletu boys who were delight to watch in term of their ball touches could not secure the victory at the end of the encounter.
Divine Victor opened the scoring in the 24th minutes after a good display by the Eletu team from the blast of whistle. Although MS Success also created some scoring chances too but poor finishing robbed them before the half time.
Sule Lawal had an opportunity to extend the lead in the early second half when he faced the opponent’s goalie at the close range.
After missed many scoring chances, Eletu keeper committed an error in the 62th minutes which saw Anthony Ndubusi salvaged draw for MS Success.
Eletu golden opportunity came in towards the end of the game when a penalty was awarded but Agu missed it which denied home team victory over their opponents.
MS Success coach, Musbau Oseni commended both teams and described the tie a tactical game. He disclosed that he prepared well for Eletu tie because he had been following and monitoring their success on social media before playing them.
“I am happy that out game plan worked because when the friendly was fixed, I began to work on the player’s fitness because I knew Eletu were very tactical, fit and dangerous on the ball. I am happy that we were not disgraced and came out with a good result which would help us in our subsequent competitions,” he said.
He also commended Prince Kazeem Eletu for giving them an opportunity to play them saying that this is best friendly match his team engaged recently. He confessed that Eletu are one of the best amateur clubs in Lagos saying that any team that want to beat them must work hard.
In his own reaction, Eletu coach, Sousdi Bilal said it was a tactical game and commended both teams for good performance. Bilal particularly showered praises on his players saying that they have done well in term of performance and teamwork and urged his players to remain steadfast and focused in their subsequent matches.
