Head coach of FC Middlewell , Yahaya Rafiu Abdul  has confessed that he was annoyed and pained that his boys suffered a slim defeat against Prince Kazeem Eletu Football Academy in a  recent friendly match played at the Eagles Club, Surulere, Lagos.

Eletu Academy beat FC Middlewell 1-0 in a pulsating friendly watched by appreciable crowd.

Abdul while reacting to the defeat said that he came to play Eletu Academy to beat them but unfortunately his boys lost to them. He attributed their defeat as result of bad pitch and congratulated their opponents for hard fought victory.

“It was not a bad match for me but I was annoyed that we lost to Eletu Academy for the second time. We came here to beat them but unfortunately we could not get result we needed. Secondly I can say we lost this match due to bad pitch and I wish to play them again in the nearest future,” he said.

In his response, Eletu Academy coach, Oluwadamilare Idowu said the game was too physical which did not bring the best out of his players. He said their opponents were too physical which was not too good for the development of the game.

“Despite the fact our opponents were too physical, my boys were able to control them and won the encounter. I was not impressed with our opponent’s performance because of their physicality and aggression they displayed throughout the game,” he said.

Both teams came to the match with high expectations. Eletu boys put good performance throughout but failed to find the back of the net in the first half.

The second half was a little bit better as both teams increased the tempo of the game. Rafael Tofoji goal in the 72th minutes broke the hearts of Middlewell fans and coaching crew. Effort by FC Middlewell to get equalizer proved abortive as referee signaled the end of the encounter.
