Captain of Prince Kazeem Eletu FC, Eletu Abayomi has shed more light why his team failed to beat Tradesafe Sport FC in a friendly match played recently at Agege Stadium, Lagos.

The friendly match was organized to keep Prince Kazeem Eletu players fit ahead of Morocco invitational tournament scheduled to hold in August.

The friendly match saw Tradesafe Sport FC; an amateur one club in Lagos scored two goals in early first half. Efforts by Prince Kazeem Eletu FC to cancel the deficit were abortive as Precious Agu only scored the penalty kick in the 54th minutes to end the encounter 2-1 in favour of Tradesafe Sport FC.

Abayomi said the two goals his team conceded in early match really affected the psyche of his teammates saying that by the time they scored the first goal; their opponents were playing more of defensive game.

“We did not quickly enter the game in the early first half and before we knew it, our opponents had scored two goals which really affected us. We were better in the second half because we outplayed them unfortunately we did not convert our scoring chances,” he said.

Abayomi expressed disappointment the way and manner their opponents played against them. He said their opponents played delayed tactics on the field of play which was very difficult for them to get the equalizer in the second half.

“Our opponents always delay the time by falling on the pitch frequently anytime we had a contact with them. Our opponents played ugly football in order to beat us at all cost. It is normal to defend us from scoring but not to the extent that they will be delaying the game and kills the tempo of the game at the time when we were looking for equalizer,” he said.

In his own remark Tradesafe Sport player, Jelili Adewunmi who scored the winning goal said it was a tough match for them but thanked God that his team came out victorious.

Before Prince Kazeem Eletu match, Tradesafe Sport FC have lost four consecutive friendly matches.
