Head مدرب of Ilaji Football Club, Adeniyi Olusesan Ogundele has commended Prince Kazeem Eletu Football Club of Lagos for their resilience, doggedness and fighting spirit exhibited when both clashed in a recent friendly match played at Ilaji sport centre, Ibadan, Oyo State.
The match which was played under the floodlight saw Eletu boys gave a good account of themselves as they held the home team to a barren draw in an encounter watched by hundreds of spectators.
Ogundele who was shocked with the performance of visiting team confessed that their opponents played purposeful football and gave his boys tough a time throughout the duration. He also revealed that Eletu had showed a tactical discipline and character which really helped them to curtail his boys from scoring.
“Let me congratulate Prince Kazeem Eletu boys for showing a good character on the field of play. I saw energetic players and full of energy in Eletu. They are fast and skillful on the ball. We never had it so tough like this in our recent friendlies and this is the first time a club would give us a tough match. Once again, I congratulate Eletu FC for their resilience and character showed throughout the game,” he said.
Some Ilaji fans who spoke to our correspondent said Eletu played well saying that they were lucky to have played barren draw with the Lagos based team. While some fans commended both teams for good performance, others said Eletu goalie deserved to be given a man of the match.
In his own comment, Eletu مدرب, Bilal Sousdi also commended his boys for job well done. He however described the match as a best and tough game since he joined the club. He confessed that his team created more scoring chances but blamed his strikers for poor finishing.
“My boys played well and they gave a good account of themselves in the game. My keeper was at his best in the match and players played to instructions. I congratulate them on their performance and I wish they should continue in the same direction.
Eletu Team manager, Muftau Eletu congratulated the boys for their determination displayed against Ilaji FC. He said both teams played good football but thanked Eletu goalie for standing tall in the encounter.
Reacting to his performance, Eletu goalie, Taiwo Suenu expressed delight that the encounter ended in draw noted that his best is yet to come. He said his performance was quite impressive and promised to do better for the club in the subsequent friendly matches.
