Head coach of Symbol Football Club of Festac, Ezibanam Etto has described Prince Kazeem Eletu Football Club fitness level a good one which helped them to beat his club in a friendly match played on Friday morning at the Eagles Club football pitch, Surulere, Lagos.

Etto said this after Eletu boys came from behind to defeat Symbol FC 2-1 in a friendly tie watched by appreciable crowd.

Speaking with our correspondent after the pulsating encounter, Etto commended both teams for their high level of tactical play but noted that his opponents were stronger towards the end of the game as a result of their level of fitness.

“It was a good match. We started well but I observed that my players were a little bit tired in the middle of the second half. If we could concede two goals in the second half, this is to tell you that our opponents were stronger and very fitter which really helped them in the game, “he said.

Team Manager of Eletu FC, Muftau Eletu expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance especially in the second half saying that coming from behind to win the game showed that the team are still in good shape for the future challenges.

He however commended coaching crew led by French coach, Sousdi Bilal for working on the player’s fitness. He admitted that the fitness level of Eletu was outstanding and urged the players to keep the good work in the subsequent matches.

Both teams began the match on the high intensity. The visiting team made several goal attempts but Eletu boys who were more purposeful in the match curtailed opponent’s onslaught throughout the first half.

The second half was a different ball game as Symbol got their first goal through Peres Osisiogu in the 48th minutes. The goal spurred Eletu to keep pressure on their opponents. The introduction of Sule Lawal changed the face of the game.Eletu got the equalizer through own goal after David Emmanuel squared play from the corner side.

Eletu who were delight to watch controlled the game as home team effort was rewarded in the 74th minutes when Divine scored the winning goal at the close range after Anu Olanrewaju fired a shot from outside the box but Symbol goalie parried the ball on the ground as Divine quickly tapped the ball into the net.
