Prince Kazeem Eletu Queens are among the four teams that gained promotion to the Nigeria Women Football League Championship.
Eletu Queens who are currently playing Nationwide Women League qualified after they reached the final stage of the just concluded Nationwide Women League in Edo State.
Although Eletu Queens won their three group matches but lost 0-1 to Lakeside Queens at the final stage of the league.
Our correspondent gathered that Nigeria Women Football League has approved the promotion of four NWFL Nationwide teams to the NWFL Championship against the earlier two publicized by the league board.
Other teams that qualified along the Eletu Queens are Lakeside Queens, Delta Babes and Imo Strikers.Imo Strikers defeated Delta Babes 3-0 in the final stage of the league.
Reacting to the promotion, Eletu Queens COACH, Damilare jaiye said he was full of joy that his team finally booked a place in the championship.
He commended his girls for their commitment and dedication to clinch one of the tickets to the promotion. He particularly thanked club chairman, Prince Kazeem Eletu for his financial support given the team in preparation for the nationwide league.
“This is the best moment of my COACHing career. My girls gave good account of themselves by winning their matches apart from Lakeside Queens we lost to in the final stage. They really tried and I must commend them for the job well done,” he said.
